Outputs for Different Outline Types (Excel)

Administrator Help Topic

If you create a customized Outline Tab for purposes other than an RFP response document, there is a different output function available called “Generate Outline Output” that can be used.  The “Generate RFP Response” output option generates the output from the outline in the “DocContentRFP” named range, whereas the “Generate Outline Output” option finds the first outline with a named range beginning with “DocContent” and outputs the content from that particular outline.

How Users Generate an RFP Response from your Outline:

  1. In the Quote File (Excel Tool), go to Outputs >> Generate RFP Response
  1. The application will dynamically assemble all content in the RFP Response Outline into a Word document output.  After reviewing the final document, you can convert the document into a PDF file in Word by going to Outputs >> Generate PDF from this File.

Important!  Both the Word doc and the PDF file will be auto-saved to the Quote File’s location in SharePoint, in the cloud (hosted by CorsPro) or on the network.

As we discussed in the Create custom outline tabs help topic, an Outline Tab can created for all kinds of uses, including proposals, SOWs, sales letters, email campaigns, etc.  So, if you have an Outline Tab that you have created for proposal, it will make more sense to the user to select the “Generate Outline Output” to generate the document from your customized Outline Tab.
